Burns Canyon

Located in a transitional zone between the Mojave Desert and San Bernardino Mountains, this project sought to harmonize the client’s desire to be connected to nature with fire-resistance and creative expression. Tucked into a hillside, this off-grid A-frame structure appears as part of the landscape.

Strategically placed interior program and windows privilege views while respecting solar design principals. A series of floating decks provide sheltered outdoor space while also appearing to only lightly touch the rugged landscape.
